ABOUT THE AUTHOR
ALLAN FOX is the son of Dave & Pola Fox, who escaped the ravages of Europe and the Second World War and ended up settling in Toronto, Canada. Dave was a tailor who gave each of his two sons a street education in his shop.
This is where Allan learned about people, thanks to the never-ending stream of customers, merchants and colourful characters who passed along Spadina Avenue. Moving to the suburbs in ‘56 initiated his ‘sports careers’. Football, baseball and hockey were played from morning until dusk.
Although his dream of playing in the NHL never died, he eventually grew up and put his attention towards the Beatles, muscle cars and later on girls.
He loved Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein, Phil Silvers and idolized Sandy Koufax, Cookie Gilchrest, and Bobby Orr. When he graduated from dental school the Dow Jones Index was 790.
